Forest Fire
my tongue and lips are cold
but the rest of me burns for you
like a forest fire won't go out on its own
it needs the rain
like I need you to put out the fire
but all it breathes is air
and its throat is dry as ever
and its thirst keeps it alive
that seems to be the case with
you and me
because with every breath I take
I grow hotter for you
you keep me dry
you keep me wet
you keep me alive
like the air I breathe
and the rain
